Just wanted to remind everyone of our Yard Sale event this Saturday (10/31) from 10am-5pm. As you can see below… we once again have collected a lot of wonderful crafting items from our vendors. We had a record this go around with 36+ vendors selling their scrapbooking supplies. This is a sale that you do not want to miss! Come early as the best items are sure to go quickly!!!

If you haven’t been in the store recently or maybe you never made it to the back corner….we have started to add a fabric section! We are so excited about this new product and anxiously await for deliveries everyday hoping that more fabric will be delivered. New items are coming every week so be sure to check back with us as this area continues to expand. Watch for quilting and fabric classes starting in January. Some of our teachers have already started incorporating fabric into their scrapbooking projects. We LOVE how there is no end to the possibilities when crafting!

a SpOOky new Class….

Join Kelli Collins on Saturday, Oct 3rd from 1-4 to create this “SPOOKY” vintage inspired banner. The panels are 6X6 so when completed it makes a nice sized banner that is perfect for displaying in your home or office. Lots of vintage finds incorporated into this project along with the Pink Paislee Halloween collection of printed paper. Students will use walnut ink and Tim Holtz alcohol ink to dye ribbon and trims to give them that erie, creepy, aged look. Learn a fun new technique of embossing on the edges of small wood pieces to give the appearance of soldered edges. Grab a “ghoul-friend” and come to this SPOOKtacular workshop. The cost of the class is $28 and all supplies are included…all you have to bring is your tools and adhesive. Stop in the store this week and see the project in person.

Theresa Bitter caught the Zebra Fever of this years Creative Escape theme and has been letting her imagination run wild!
This is what she has to say for herself. “I love creating jewelry for Scrapbooks etc and I’ve had a great time making jewelry for Creative Escape since the very first year. Early this summer I was inspired by Amy Totti to use Zebra print in my jewelry design. The black and white Zebra print along with some green and pink have been the focus of my designs. Do you remember when I promised you that the Betwinchie journal was not the last of the betwinchies and that you’d see them again?
Well, here they are!
A canvas collage just loaded with them!
The canvas is 12×16 and the actual collage area is 12×12…at 1 1/2″ each, that makes for 64 little squares. But, I cheated a little and several are two or three squares combined…but still a lot of betwinchies, right?
This is more than just a way to display fun papers and embellishments. It’s actually created for your photos and personal mementos as well…if you look closely, you can see pix of Vern and Ash and Bodie and a sheep from the North 40 and my bio photo…
This is such a fun canvas to build…it’s got texture galore and some of the embellies are even vintage…how cool is that? There’s some stamping if you want…or a ton of stamping if that’s what you like since I’ll be bringing a huge box of wood mounted discontinued or hard to find rubber stamps from my personal collection. There’s plastering, inking, painting, etc. If you want to match up the canvas color to a color in your home, you can bring a small bottle of craft paint to use…I’ll also have several different colors on hand.
Can you picture this hanging on your wall…can you picture 3 or 5 of them side by side like a gallery…or maybe one canvas for each member of your family? The possibilities are really endless…like maybe for gifting (you know that the holidays aren’t really that far away!). And, the other thing that you can do is to rotate the canvas so that it’s a landscape profile…like I said, endless!

Now that the kids are back in school, join us next week for a great lineup of classes. Starting on Monday and Tuesday we have open lab scheduled from 10-4pm. i have been on a kick… and i LOVE it when that happens! i have been in the zone.. and it feels great. it seems like it’s been a long time, and it causes me to wonder what has been the super-charge? i guess it’s just the natural ebb and flow of creative energy! …take it while you can get it. for me, creating classes, and ideas that i can share makes the creative process so much fuN… as a result- soo many new ideas!
it’s the big holiday week here, and most people are leaving town! with temps looming above the 110′s, who wouldn’t want to take off. but we are sticking around! i have mentioned that i am teaching Wed and Thurs of this week… 3 brand new classes, as well as HKS secrets… here’s a look at the projects:
totally techniques (WED 1-4pm)
we are using everything RANGER, and my INVISIBLES. in addition to learning 7 techniques to use w/ the invisibles, we’ll make this super cute FRESH book…
House of 3 Project Central (WED 6-9pm)
in addition to the ‘celebration countdown’ project, we’ll be making the ALL NEW 4th of July book i featured here a couple days ago! perfect for the NOW!
HKS Secrets is a Masking/layering class and we’ll be making 5, 12″ layouts. (see some of the projects here) FUN! (thurs 1-4pm)
“We are Family” featuring the YUDU (thurs 6-9pm)
we’ll be using the Yudu to create this fun book, full of summery papers from my Summer Sun line, and an EXCLUSIVE set of clear embellshments that i have created for this class on the Yudu. i love how the inside turned out, i have been adding photos into this today.

Heidi Swapp is up to something great…

On July 1st and 2nd Heidi Swapp will be teaching a total of 4 classes. Taken from her blog these are the descriptions of her upcoming classes. Call Scrapbooks, Etc at 480-854-2303 to sign up.
1. HKS Secrets- this is a really FUN and fast paced class that explores SO many possibilities with masks. We’ll be combining the NEW ‘mega masks’ with the ones that have been around for awhile to get all new, totally cool results! add in some stamping, layering, inking, blending inks, shading, shadowing and MORE… equals TOTALLY inspiring! It’s perfect for those totally new to masking and exciting for those who have been doing it as long as my masks have been around! We create 5 12” layouts; so you learn AND you’re totally productive! How awesome is that?
2. TONS of TECHNIQUES: Inks, paints, gesso, …oh my!
There is more packed into this class than any other! We’ll start off learning 6 fabulous techniques to use with the Heidi Swapp Invisibles chipboard and paper and a slew of Ranger products. We’ll be creating a unique tiered bracket book using one simple template and students will learn yet one more inky technique as we finish off the front and back cover of the book, and use 7 gypsies new “Binderie” to bring it all together!
You’ll play and experiment with inks, paints, alcohol inks, distress, gesso and even custom color sprays …all from Ranger, and even make a Mini-BOOK! (gasp)!
3. House of 3 PROJECT Central:
In this class we’ll be creating 2 FUN projects featured on House of 3:
1. Celebration Countdown: We’ll be creating a fun countdown wall hanging project that is easy and useful! We’ll be working from printed downloaded files from House of 3, trimming, inking and assembling and completing! (I hour)
2. “You are loved” mini book (this link shows off a version that Janet Hopkins made using this kit back in Feb. We’ll be using all different papers and supplies to create the same book!) that features a variety of templates printed on coordinating cardstock used to cover chipboard. Clear and Sticker elements will be combined to create and complete a book ready to ‘just add photos’.
3. Thank you Card BONUS project… depending on how FAST we move through the class, we will create 2 clever thank you cards to have on hand, and leaving with the PDF files and know-how to create more as needed.
Students will learn tips and tricks, secrets and solutions for utilizing hybrid scrapbooking files and how to navigate and be TOTALLY inspired by House of 3. Kits will include everything needed to complete these 3 projects.
4. FAMILY ALBUM and YuDO training class
Ok, so this will rock your world and get your brain spinning with possibilities! This class has 2 important parts
Part 1: I will be educating and instructing how to use Provo Craft’s new Yudo machine: the do-it-yourself home silk-screen machine. This is SUCH an amazing and fun tool to have, and has endless applications and possibilities. I will give and OVERVIEW on how to create a screen start to finish, and supply step-by-step instructions to create. I’ll also highlight all the parts and pieces that make this cool-tool work!
Part 2: the project! We will be creating a 6×12 mini-book and using the Yudu to create the covers. We will prep the chipboard covers with yummy Claudine Hellmuth paints and her ‘sticky backed canvas’ to get a fabulous (individualized) background that we’ll then screen print on our surfaces. I have designed these fun titles exclusively for this class! Students will also receive an EXCLUSIVE set of screened embellishments to use throughout the book. Pages of the book will be made from Bazzill cardstock and heidi swapp papers. I’ll be sharing some cool tips on prepping the inside pages and we’ll put it all together using the ‘bind-it-all’ machine!

and this is another one we’ll be playing with in class: painting and screen printing on Claudine Hellmuth’s sticky backed canvas… this stuff is SO awesome! i LOVE it!

Join Susan on Saturday, June 13th from 10:30 to 1PM for Scrap-a-Latte!!!
You will expresso yourself in this fun class! She is calling this project
“Purse of Quirks.” You will create a mini book from a ribbon spool! This
purse opens up and six double sided circle pages spill out. Although she
utilized this project to list some of her “quirks” you can use it for ANY
theme! Please bring the following for this class: Basic tools and
adhesives, foam paint brush, brown ink, crop-a-dile, sandpaper and
stapler.
Bring one 4 x6 photo and several wallet sized photos to crop using circle
punches. Convert these photos to sepia to better flow with our project if
you choose! If you have: please bring 1 3/4″ circle punch!
Dress Accordingly — you may get a little messy! After completing this
class – you will be able to re-create this project in different themes and
color schemes. Plus, Susan is bringing extra ribbon spools to GIVE you -
just in case you would like to make more!!!!

Kids are you ready? Kids Class is starting this Monday!!!

Join Ginger every Monday afternoon from 2:30-3:30 for kid’s class. This class is great for children ages 7-14. Projects are girl and boy themed so there is something for everyone.
