Master Mini Books this Thursday and Friday

Join us this Thursday, March 26th from 6 to 8:30 PM or Friday March 27th from
10:30 to 1 PM for our Master Mini Books Class with Susan Mast! This month
our project theme is “Life is so Daily.” This mini book has 20 pages
which it comfortably into plastic page protectors. Ten of these pages feature
cute tags that pull out of pockets that you will learn to create! This
adorable mini book is heavily embellished with pom poms, brads, flowers, and
buttons and layers of beautiful cardstock and patterned papers. All
papers have been precut for easily assembly. For this class please bring: Basic
tools and adhesives (including 1/8″ tacky tape and pop dots) plus, a grid
ruler (Tim Holtz ruler recommended) brown ink pad, a hole punch for ribbon

Join Jennifer on Tuesday, March 31st….

Join Jennifer Wagner next Tuesday, March 31st from 5pm-9pm for Bookin’ It. This month you will be creating this beautiful album that will fit inside a decorated box. Jennifer will be using the new line of papers from Cosmo Cricket. You are sure to learn new techniques that can be used on any project you create. Hope you can join her next Tuesday!

this Saturday…

On Saturday, March 21 from 10:30 AM to 1 PM we have our Scrap-a-Latte class with Susan. You will create a 5 x7 mini book themed around your scrapbook space! Maybe the crop room at Scrapbooks, Etc. is your scrapbook space! You will work with papers, borders, brads, buttons, flowers, chipboard, die cuts and use the Zutter Bind-it-All to bind your project. Join us for fun, a sweet treat and a unique project! After completing this class you will be able to easily recreate this project in different themes and color schemes.
Please bring your basic tools (scissors, paper trimmer, paper piercer, corner rounder and a black pen) and adhesives (Uhu glue stick, tape runner, liquid glue, glue dots and pop dots) for this class.

Special Events Coming Soon!

We are so excited to announce the special guests that will be teaching here at Scrapbooks, Etc in May.  First on the list, returning to us again is Heidi Swapp.  She will be teaching a class on Wednesday, May 6th from 5:30-8:30 ($60) and then again Thursday, May 7th from 10:30-1:30 ($60).  Anytime Heidi is teaching it is sure to be an amazingly cute project leaving you completely inspired.  Check back with us soon for more class info and pictures. 

Second up is Debby Schuh.  She will be teaching on Thursday, May 7th from 5:30pm-8:30pm ($55) Debby Schuh can’t remember a time when she hasn’t scrapbooked…she still has her scrapbook from when she was two years old. After teaching school for several years and then working as a staff designer for a major scrapbook company, Debby now has a busy schedule teaching at scrapbook stores and events both in the US and abroad as well as doing freelance design and consulting work. Her classes at CKU (Creating Keepsakes University) for the last six years have inspired hundreds of students across the country. She’s looking forward to teaching at Creative Escape this year and on her upcoming cruise of the Mediterranean. She teaches innovative techniques step by step so that her students leave class with a beautiful finished project. Debby is blessed to be able to do what she loves…travel the world and meet wonderful people, do a little shopping along the way, and share her passion for scrapbooking. What do you want to be? Sometimes we are so busy DOing that we need to be reminded to just BE: be strong, be real, be happy…the list can go on and on…but just BE YOU! This 5×7” album will not only be filled with lots of the paper engineering ideas you love but will be a place for the reminders you need to just BE. Maybe you know someone who needs this reminder as a encouraging gift. There’s a girl who’s going on from high school or college who needs the encouragement to follow her heart. Maybe a friend needs encouragement as she goes through a difficult time. Maybe that someone is you! I plan to make this album as a treasury of the statements of affirmation and reminders I say to myself regularly and hope to pass on to others.  We’ll be using the new Girl Friday collection from Cosmo Cricket, along with products from American Crafts, Scenic Route, Maya Road, Prima, Creative Imaginations, Bazzill Basics, Hambly Screenprints, Tim Holtz, My Mind’s Eye, and more. This kit is packed with goodies!

 
And last but not least, we are excited to announce that Tim Holtz will be joining us for a learning experience of a lifetime on Saturday, May 23rd.  Tim will be teaching two different classes.  Starting at 10am will be “Idea-ology Intrigue”($75).  Have you been intrigued by the eclectic mix of products in the idea-ology line? Does your mind wonder at the possibilities? This workshop will satisfy your creative wishes as we design and assemble numerous wearable pieces using idea-ology. Learn a variety of jewelry making tips and tricks as you customize your creations into one-of-a-kind couture. Explore the endless ideas that await you as we discover the intrigue of idea-ology…
Secondly, he will teach “Patchwork Pandemonium” at 3:30pm($75). Put on your creative caps for a colorful, textured, and very altered workshop. Embrace your imperfections and artistic freedom as you design and embellish patchworks of art. Learn techniques using inks, paints, custom textures on grungeboard, and unleash your creative passion for trinkets and treasures. Create a 12”x12” hanging patchwork grunge piece adorned with ornate flair and let your creativity take you for a wild ride as you enter a world of patchwork pandemonium…

Upcoming Classes @ SB Etc.

We are very excited here at Scrapbooks, Etc about some of the classes that are coming up in the next week or so. In addition to the Easy Peasy (layout) class tomorrow from 10:30am-12:30pm and again from 6:30pm-8:30pm we have Susan back again teaching Master Mini Books on Thursday evening from 6-8:30pm and again on Friday morning from 10:30-1pm. Your class project will be: In the Kitchen, The ANTI-Cookbook. Please bring an embroidery needle, ruler and scalloped scissors in addition to your basic tools and adhesives for this class! Next Tuesday, on March 3rd Ginger will be teaching Serendipity from 6-8:30pm. In this class you will be making the two picture frames below. The class fee is $28 and includes both projects.


On Wednesday, March 4th Jenny will be teaching Shabby Scrapin’ from 6-8:30pm. In her class you will have the opportunity to pick your color scheme. She will be having you make this adorable wall organizer.


Join Jamie on Friday morning the 6th of March from 10:30-1pm to create the two frames pictured below. She will be using this cute paper from October Afternoon.

Finishing off classes next week…Kelli will be teaching Beginner’s Luck on Saturday (3/7) morning from 10:30-1pm. If you are just gettting started or need alittle inspiration, you will find it in this class with Kelli! Hoping you can join us for these upcoming classes. First up is Jennifer’s A2Z Techniques class. This class will be held on Tuesday, January 27th from 10:30am-1:30pm and then again from 5:30pm-8:30pm. With Jennifer teaching 6-7 different techiques in each class, you are guaranteed to walk away learning something new.

Next up is Susan’s Scrap-a-latte class on Saturday, January 31st from 10:30am-1pm. She has named this class, “Love U to Pieces”! In this project you will make a 12×12 puzzle pieceboard that can also be turned into a minibook.

Kicking off February is Jenny’s Shabby Surprise class on February 3rd from 6-8:30pm. Jenny has created a beautiful chipboard/acrylic album using Basic Grey’s new valentines day line.

Come and join Ginger on Friday, February 6th from 10:30-1pm for Serendipity. Ginger will be having you create this bright, fun, chipboard album titled “Oh the places we go!

This Saturday (1/10) Kelli and Amy will be teaching Lickity Slip from 12:30-5:30. If you haven’t ever taken a class with these chicks you are missing out for sure! Not only will you go home with a wonderful 2-up album filled with 4×6 panels but a for sure fun filled afternoon. Below is a sampling of what the pages will look like. With the cost of the class you will receive the album and all of the product to complete 52 panels. After spending an hour at home slipping in your photos..you will have an entire album completed. Master Mini Books Friendship Class

Join us for Master Mini Books on Thursday evening,  1/15 from 6 to 8:30 PM
or Friday morning, 1/16 from 10:30 to 1 PM.  The theme of this project is
Friendship… but this book has a “sarcastic” twist.  In this class  you
will work with acrylic paint, chipboard, patterned papers and Bazzill
cardstock.   Susan has created custom die cut shapes to coordinate with the
Sassafras patterned paper used in this class.  This project will be
embellished with flowers, brads and ribbon.  In addition to your basic
supplies you will need a 1″ foam paint brush, crop-a-dile, and a brown stamp
pad.

birthday celebration!!!

So guess how old we are this year??? 10 years!!! Can’t believe how fast time goes. Well, we have some fun things planned for our birthday celebration week. Each day through Saturday we have a new 12×12 page layout on display and for purchase. Below are pictures of the pages that have come out so far. Classes this week…

There are only a few days left until Christmas…are you ready? We have a few classes to offer this week. On Tuesday, Susan will be teaching Master Mini Books. There are a few spots left in the evening class from 6:30-8:30pm. On Wednesday, Amy will be teaching her monthly class of Easy Peasy. This is a wonderful class to come and get 12×12 layouts completed in a short amount of time. Amy will be teaching from 10:30-12:30 and 6:30-8:30pm. Lastly, on Saturday Susan will be teaching Scrap-a-Latte from 10:30-12:30. In this class you will create a pocket planner for 2009. You will be working with chipboard, flocked paper, diamond glaze, and the Zutter Bind-it-all machine. This class is only $24 and would make a wonderful handmade holiday gift.

Friday Classes

Join us this Friday (Nov. 21st) for 2 great holiday projects. Amy will be kicking off the morning with her monthly make-n-take project. She will be creating this cute advent calendar. The class fee is only $12. Class is from 10:30-11:30am.

From 2pm-4pm Amanda will teach Everyday Inspirations ($26). She will have you create this way cute holiday binder. You can add photos to make this a Christmas album or a holiday journal for your Christmas celebrations. Call quick as spots are filling fast.
